Many thanks to all

ham.jpgFor readers not in the US, today is Thanksgiving Day. Our friends to the north celebrated their harvest festival last month.
I’ll be giving thanks today to my local Honeybaked Ham® franchise for making our little stay-at-home celebration that much easier.
As I also enjoy my British-crafted Samuel Smith Imperial Stout, I’ll also be giving thanks that my little blog hobby is something that is valued by you folks around the world.
There are a great many challenges on this planet and there is much suffering among our people. We should all find something to be thankful for today.
Wherever you are and whatever your lot in life, thank you for coming by.

  1. Too full. I’m currently watching the five year old run around the living room, several pairs of underwear on his head. I think the sparkling cider went straight to his head. Momma made us a couple Cornish game hens, foregoing last years tofurky. She did a marvelous job, in spite of pregnancy making her usual distaste for the smell of cooking meat, that much more acute.
I am quite thankful to have had such a wonderful day with my family, looking forward to another mouth for next year’s celebrations. Things are not always rosy, but they could be much worse. All in all, we have much to be thankful for.
(Though your mention of the Samuel Smith makes me wish for a Le Fin Du Monde, by the Canadian brewer Unibroue. Alas, I am abstaining while momma’s pregnant and breastfeeding.)

  2. Great to hear from you DuWayne. Yes, indeed, no matter how challenging things get, the little people in our lives help to set things in perspective. I know from your blog that you’ve got a lot going on so good luck to you guys, especially with the new baby coming along!
And, yes, I know of Le Fin Du Monde – we get it locally but I haven’t tried it in a long time. If I do, I’ll think of you.
